Fear

On Sunday afternoon, we gave Little J his first-ever opportunity to sit on a horse.  He loves to seigh "neigh" as we drive by horses, and while he hasn't wanted to get too close when we have seen horses in person, we were at a resort that had stables and offered pony rides... so we thought we would give him the chance.

At first, he was all excited.  He had the hat, after all.  Big J picked him up and put him on the pony.  He liked it for about 2.5 seconds and then toddler meltdown ensued.

The horse trainer said we could let K-Man have a chance too, so Big J put him on the pony as well.  He just hung out.

I don't know if the difference in reaction is their ages -- as in Little J understands he could fall and get hurt, whereas K-Man just trusts that we will take care of him -- or if the difference is in their personalities -- Little J is much more intense, already, than K-Man.

Either way, it was neat to see them try something new.
